Murray A. Morrison

Experience:

Murray started investigating claims in 1978 when employed by a large multi-divisional transportation company. He handled claims for motor-vehicle accidents, heavy equipment, motor truck cargo and personal effects.

In 1979 Murray became a licensed Independent Adjuster with Brouwer & Company where he handled auto claims, general liability losses and motor truck cargo claims. Brouwer & Company sold to Lindsey Morden (now Cunningham Lindsay) and Murray became the Provincial representative for Transportation Fleet Services, their specialty motor truck cargo division. He also continued to specialize in the investigation of automobile claims and the handling of bodily injury claims.

In 1986 Murray moved to Multi-Line Claims Services Ltd. where he is now a Partner. At Multi-Line Claims Murray continues to specialize in the investigation of motor vehicle accidents and the handling of bodily injury claims for Insurers and Defense Counsel. He also handles general liability, municipal liability and motor truck
cargo claims.

Murray enjoys working on challenging civil litigation files for Insurers and Defense Counsel. He has a special interest in complicated past and future income loss claims, lost business opportunity claims, family compensation claims, and files requiring internet research.

Murray has participated in Mediations, Arbitrations and has testified in court.

Education:

Murray graduated as an honour roll student from high school in Burnaby, BC then continued his education in Administrative Management at BCIT. Since entering the insurance industry Murray has continued to improve his skills through continued training with the Insurance Institute of Canada, the Justice Institute of BC, the ICBC Training Department, Pacific Traffic Education Centre and the Continuing Legal Education Society of BC.

Murray has taken additional technical training in Claims Investigations, Interviewing techniques, Internet Research, Future Wage Loss Claims, Mediation, Freedom of Information, Negotiation Skills and Litigation Management. He has also taken related training in Microsoft Office software, Simply Accounting, Digital Photography, and Business Management.

Industry Activities:

Murray is a Past President of the Canadian Independent Adjusters’ Association (Pacific Region) and a past National CIAA Board Member. He has been a past committee member for the BC Insurance Adjusters’ Association and the Insurance Council of BC. Murray is currently the longest standing member of the ICBC/Independent Adjuster Liaison Committee.

Personal:

Murray has been competitive in Provincial Floor Hockey and Racquetball and nationally in 10 pin bowling. He presently enjoys recreational and competitive amateur golf. Murray is a former Director of the Pitt Meadows Golf Club and is currently an active member of the Richmond Country Club. Murray makes his home in North Delta, BC.
